Public bug reported:

With the most recent updates I have discovered java has STOPPED WORKING
in the Chrome and Opera browsers but it is still working in the Firefox
browser.

I have confirmed this in ubuntu 12.04 on a dell600m and in xubuntu 12.04
on a dell dimension 4100.

I ran kernels 3.2.0-27 and 3.2.0-29 on both machines - didn't make a
difference.

I am using the following for java:
OpenJDK Java 7 Runtime
icedtea-7-plugin

These are the websites I check each time I do updates to confirm
functionality.

http://www.javatester.org/version.html
http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

I checked the known issues for Ubuntu and don't see any issues with this
java problem listed.
