Public bug reported:

This is a very irritating problem.

Symptoms :
- Audio does not work on booting. I usually have to reboot to get it to work.
- I have to fiddle with the audio volume to get it to work. Does not work
everytime. If it does not work, i reboot again.
- Audio starts to work and if I am playing music/ watching a movie/etc, it
continues to work. However, if I pause for a few minutes - e.g. taking a
lunch/dinner break, and come back, the audio does not work again.

This is not an issue with the Bose hardware because:
1. I have a dual boot system, and I do not ever get this problem on windows.
2. If audio is not working, i can pull the usb out and put it in again to get
it to work.

I suspect
- there is some usb keep awake issue. if there is no signal on the usb cable
for sometime, it just dies and stops listening.

I think other people are having the same problem. I had blogged about it
a while back and got comments from other readers. You can read about it
at http://vibhurishi.blogspot.in/2012/03/ubuntu-no-sound-fix-for-usb-
audio.html . Its worse in Ubuntu 12.04 as I need to reboot or
unplug/plug the usb cable. This is driving me nuts.
