Public bug reported:

When Ubuntu 12.04 starts up from CD, before enter the purple screen on
the left hand top corner, there is a line where it says "Error: Prefix
not found"

The similar issue has been seen on the following platform[1]:
ASUS N53SV
Asus E45M1-M Pro
Asus u36sd-a1

However, the issue does not cause any installation issue on _my
experience_. I was able to install Ubuntu successfully after seen the
error.
