You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hi, I am trying to print a picture to a 6"x4" photo paper. If the picture is not originally shot with the same scale ratio than the photo paper, then there is white borders on the sides.
There is no option to automatically fit the picture to the frame by croping borders of the pictures. In windows there is just a checkbox to check to obtain this. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-sg/windows-vista/Print-a-picture In the "image settings" pane of Ubuntu, there is various settings to position the picture in the frame and dynamically see the result, but everything is manual, and the "scaling" option seems bugous since you can only zoom out wich only creates more white borders. AS you see in the attached screeenshot, the max scaling is 13% (why 13% ??) and I can't go past this. For whatever reason there is a "scale" option in percentage on the 'Page Setup" pane, but you can't see how it will render unless you do a print preview, and it will take many tries to get the right amount of zoom. I tried Gimp, Shotwell, EOG, and there is this issue everywhere.
