I had a xfdesktop segfault on a very similar install/system as nakki. I
tried everything above to no avail. What worked for me was deleting
~/.config/menu folder. It had created a seemingly infinite (recursive?)
folder/file combo that crashed the menu, then the panel and seemingly
xfdesktop I should still have copies of these folders/files and would
be happy to answer anyone's questions about this.
