Rebooted, current kernel (-29-pae) Without modprobe, I have no sound devices in system settings (aside from dummy device).
After modprobe, I have internal sound device listed in system settings and sound works . Speakers work and skype test-call got my speaking so microphone works. This is a fine workaround.
