I am also facing this issue. The notebook is a Lenovo G470, but the hardware is basically the same, including the sound card. The microphone does not work on Skype nor on gnome-sound-recorder. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit version here.
I installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa- driver/+bug/1002978/+attachment/3200653/+files/alsa-hda-dkms_0.1_all.deb , which made the microphone work on Skype, but then the output sound became really noisy and polluted and I decided to uninstall it (the sound was noisy only on Skype).
