Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 12.10, Wesnoth 1.10 does not capture keypresses from ALT.

CTL-R, for instance, correctly calls up the recruit menu, while CTL-
ALT-R does nothing (it should call up the recall menu).

I am assuming some conflict in keybindings, but don't know the details.
