Public bug reported: Not too sure whether this is actually a Unity bug, but it seems whenever I set a startup application, there is no dash bar or menu bar, just the application.
I can use the application normally, type and click things, but as soon as I press the enter key (or apparently some other keyboard combinations such as Alt+something), I get booted out back to the login screen. Once I log in, everything works fine. So, just to clarify, I'm setting startup program(s) like this: http://i.imgur.com/FvbK0.jpg What I want to have after pressing my power button to turn my laptop on: http://i.imgur.com/NspiF.png What I actually get: http://i.imgur.com/heGoJ.png It seems to happen just with Unity-3D, not Unity-2D. However, I have another problem which may or may not be relevant which seemingly affects both versions; sometimes when I switch on the machine, instead of being automatically logged on, I just get a black screen with the mouse cursor. When I press enter on the keyboard, the login screen appears and I can log in normally. So, any ideas what might be causing these two problems? I'm running a pretty much clean install of Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS on my Acer Aspire 4830TG laptop from an SSD. Unity version is 5.14.0-0ubuntu1, Unity-2D is 5.12.0-0ubuntu1.1 Thanks, Andrew ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1041404 Title: Startup application(s) stop unity from loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1041404/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
