On this laptop in particular, the wl driver unfailingly comes up in an
unusable state. eth2 is present and shows the right MAC but nearly every
command fails with "Invalid argument". To get the wireless card into a
usable state I have to unblock it with rfkill (this seems to be
important), than unload and reload the wl module.
If I were to guess, I'd surmise that the firmware isn't being loaded due
to the chip being off at the time the module is loaded.
