Disclaimer: I am the lead developer of PyBridge. PyBridge 0.3.0 should be packaged and available in Debian's repository (http://packages.debian.org/pybridge) in the near future, thanks to David Watson. It may be better to resync Ubuntu's PyBridge packages from Debian, when they become available.
