What needs testing (by you): We need to verify that enabling the wayland backend does not cause regressions (things breaking that weren't broken) with X. Verifying that things work with wayland is not really relevant to this bug.
<xclaesse> for now, the question is more: does turning wayland backend on affect the x11 backend <mclasen> xclaesse: as I said, there's some backend-specific parts in libgtk where there is potential for problems <mclasen> but it is fairly limited: dnd, clipboard, xembed, tray icons <mclasen> of course, there's plenty of potential for individual apps to refuse to work on wayland <mclasen> but I guess thats not a concern at this point So, installing the packages in this ppa, rebooting, and testing dnd (drag and drop), clipboard (copy and paste), xembed, and tray icons, is what is currently most useful for this bug: https://launchpad.net/~darxus/+archive/wayland-gtk-quantal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/954352 Title: Enable wayland backend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/954352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
