What needs testing (by you):
We need to verify that enabling the wayland backend does not cause regressions 
(things breaking that weren't broken) with X.  Verifying that things work with 
wayland is not really relevant to this bug.

<xclaesse> for now, the question is more: does turning wayland backend on 
affect the x11 backend
<mclasen> xclaesse: as I said, there's some backend-specific parts in libgtk 
where there is potential for problems
<mclasen> but it is fairly limited: dnd, clipboard, xembed, tray icons
<mclasen> of course, there's plenty of potential for individual apps to refuse 
to work on wayland
<mclasen> but I guess thats not a concern at this point

So, installing the packages in this ppa, rebooting, and testing dnd (drag and 
drop), clipboard (copy and paste), xembed, and tray icons, is what is currently 
most useful for this bug:
