I have this point about software center, as I have just reorted USC failure on sudo apt-get update;; sudo apt-get upgrade. When the upgrade had finished tries USC and the box came up, greyed and closed. No report generated. Apart from that Ubuntu 12.10 at about 03.00 BST works fine.
