I am having the same problem, but only with one of my printer for which
CUPS is not working.  If I print to my HP Laserjet 6L, my page is
printed and not temporary file is to be found under /tmp.  If I print to
my Brother MFC-j615W, nothing gets printed (no errors reported though;
this is another bug) and the temporary files remain.

The application used is LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2),
Ubuntu 12.04 up to date as of 2012-08-30.
