Ok, this is really starting to worry me. Currently I am booted in: Linux
brendand-6930p 3.5.0-1-generic #1~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 20
14:43:32 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux, which is from quite a
while ago and I'm 100% certain I didn't see this problem when I was
actually running that kernel as standard. But now I see much the same
problem. One difference is that PowerTop now works properly and outputs
the following:
PowerTOP 1.97 Overview Idle stats Frequency stats Device stats
Tunab
The battery reports a discharge rate of 24.7 W
The estimated remaining time is 64 minutes
Summary: 342.6 wakeups/second, 0.0 GPU ops/second and 0.0 VFS ops/sec

Note the presence of info on how much power is being used. I'll wait and
see if this kernel also shuts the system down without warning and update
the bug.
