After excessive search for the source of the problem, I pinned it down to the new Shockwave Flash plugin from Google Chrome (v.11.3 r31). Reverting back to v. 11.2 r202, solved the problem and CPU consumption falls greatly with the older version.
I have screenshots, should you guys require, displaying resource usage on my machine while playing a YouTube video with each version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042365 Title: [Realtek ALC1200, SPDIF Out, Internal] Sound stops and repeats last second like stuck audio cd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1042365/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
