I have the same problem here. Upon startup udev loops through these
errors, I have thousands of them in my syslog:
kernel: [ 48.844610] device-mapper: table: 254:0: linear: dm-linear: Device
lookup failed
kernel: [ 48.844697] device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table
udevd-event[4645]: node_symlink: unlink(/dev/mapper/) failed: Is a directory
udevd-event[4645]: node_symlink: symlink(../dm-0, /dev/mapper/) failed: File
exists
When I restart udev (/etc/init.d/udev restart) the problem goes away.
