The usblp0 messages in your kern.log are normal. They are caused by the "usblp" kernel module being detached from the printer when CUPS accesses the printer and re-attached when CUPS is done accessing.
To find out why your printer gets unaccessible after a short time, please follwo the instructions of the sections "USB printer", "CUPS error_log", and "Capturing print job data" on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems. Also attach your complete /var/log/syslog file. Please do not compress the files and do not package tyhem together, attach them one by one. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1045718 Title: [Xerox Phaser 3155] Requires USB unplug & replug every few minutes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1045718/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
