Bought a new 4-to-6 FW cable.

Desktop - to TRV-900

On connection the bus reset loop starts running, nothing else
On disconnection I got this:

Nothing on laptop.

I suppose this points to defect HW? Propably the (integrated) adapter on the 
desktop?
How easy are these things to break?

Will try older Ubuntu later.
