Hi Joseph, This system behaves strangely in that the audio control panel shows nothing for the internal microphone; however if I plug in an external microphone, that one appears in the control panel.
The internal microphone's volume apparently can't be controlled in the sound control panel, but it seems to work fine; I retested using an automated script and it was able to record a control beep without problems, and recording level adjustment, done via pactl, works well. I guess the instance where it failed to record was spurious, as I have been unable to reproduce this behavior. I tested the mainline kernel just for kicks (3.6-rc4), and that one works fine as well. Let me know if you think this warrants further investigation as to why the audio sources don't show in the control panel, but I'd be inclined to set this to Invalid. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1045903 Title: [Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 14] No audio input (line-in or microphone) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1045903/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
