Is it the late or early model? (Core Duo vs Core 2 Duo)?
If it is Core 2 Duo, you can try using 12.04.1 LTS amd64+mac or amd64 images.
If it is Core Duo, please use 12.04.1 LTS i386 image.
You have used Oneiric Ocelot image, which even if buggy, will not be updated
since images will not be republished.
