Thanks for reporting this bug. This bug was already fixed in the trunk; you need version 0.6 (or greater) of package account-plugin-google in order for this to work. Unfortunately, such package is not yet available. Ken, I'm counting on you :-)
However, just installing the new package won't fix your problem: you'll actually have to re-create the google account, in order for this to work.
