I have this same problem. Upon reboot Digital Output (S/PDIF) volume is always set to maximum.
I think I've traced it to the pulse module "module-device-restore". Attached is a log, loglevel=4. I can see that module-device-restore opens the TDB file, but I never see in the log something like "Restoring volume for sink %s" like I would expect, by looking at the source. ** Attachment added: "pulselog.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/598308/+attachment/3297632/+files/pulselog.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/598308 Title: Volume at login set to Maximum To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/598308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
