I have generated the pulseverbose.log as suggested in the comment from Dave.
Situation before switching on pulseverbose: Audio being sent to build-in speakers, no further speakers attached. In the sound settings no devices appear. Actions during the pulseverbose being active: I plugged in the headphones - audio being sent to both built-in and headphones. No devices appear in the sound settings. Then I unplugged the headphones. (From timestamp of the logfile I can see that none of my actions were logged though). Hope this information helps you!
