If you remove the cat7 cord and isolator out of the picture, having
just a direct receiver USB cord to PC USB port connection, with no hubs
or other eq. intermediaries, does the frequency of the kernel panic
change?

As well, could you please test for this problem in Lucid via
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/release/ ?

Also, could you please test the latest mainline kernel available via
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.6-rc5-quantal/ ?
