Public bug reported:
My initial install attempt crashed about half way through, giving me a
notice that it was probably due to a defect in my install medium, which
was a CD-ROM in this case.
I re-burned an install CD, and it looked as though the installer would
complete. The progress bar had gone completely across and I was waiting,
but it finally gave me another message stating that the installer had
crashed. I am really not sure of the reason for this crash.
I have previously installed Ubuntu (including this version, 12.04) on
many computers, over the past few years, and use Ubuntu solely as my
operating system of choice. This computer is an older Toshiba laptop
belonging to my inlaws, who also use Ubuntu, but have only recently
decided to install Ubuntu to this machine.
