Hello Chris, I have tried changing the window size in Thunderbird to make the tab size change, but that doesn't happen. The issue still appears, however. See attached screenshot (with three tabs open).
Also worth noting is that I installed Ubuntu 12.10 from a daily build on my laptop (a different machine) a couple days ago, and I cannot reproduce this bug there.
