Just a note that the blacklisting suggested in #3 was implemented in
bcmwl (5.100.82.38+bdcom-0ubuntu6.1) precise-proposed; urgency=low
* debian/bcmwl-kernel-source.postinst:
- Blacklist brcmfmac, brcmsmac and bcma so that they don't
conflict with the closed driver (LP: #873117)
