I get the same error message logged periodically, though the install was
OK and I haven't suffered a system crash (yet). The circumstances under
which the error appears are not yet clear (I've only had the machine a
week or so).  There was one occasion when K3b crashed, but it wasn't
actually writing to the DVD at the time.

However, I don't have SATA disks.  The IDE bios settings I have are all
set to 'auto' (PIO mode, UDMA mode, and Access mode).

The cdrom is hdg on a Promise PCI card that also has a Seagate HD (hde).

MB is Asus M2N-E. The one onboard IDE channel has two Maxtor disks (hda, hdb)
AMD64 X2, nVidia 7600 PCIe
Ubuntu 6.06.1
