I hit this issue multiple times trying to install 11-Sep quantal- desktop-amd64.iso on a MacBookAir3,1. I tried to run "ubuntu-bug ubiquity" multiple times and attach to this bug but my logs never successfully attached to this bug.
Which logs from /var/log/installer would you need to see? After sitting for an hour at "Copying installation logs..." I just did a sudo reboot from the terminal and the system came back fine.
