Public bug reported: When I installed Ubuntu 12.04, the wifi worked. After some updates during a couple of weeks it stopped working.
I can see the wireless networks on the list of Network Manager, but when I try to connect them, NM can't finish the connection. If the network is secured by WPA, NM asks for a password. After I have entered the correct password, NM stays trying to connect to the network forever. If the network is open, unsecured, NM just seems to try to connect to the network but never finishes. I downloaded the daily desktop CD of 12.04 (15/8/2012) and I had the same problem with it. I also downloaded and installed the latest stable and unstable ath9k drivers, but they didn't help either. I want to just say once more: the wireless worked perfectly with a fesh install of 12.04. The strange thing is that I can connect via wifi to the network that my phone (Nokia N9 with JoikuSpot) creates. The icon of the network on the list in NM is a computer screen. I'm happy to do more debugging if needed and told what exactly should be done.
