Thanks for getting back to me - I'm afraid I can't verify the problem
anymore, though. I still had problems uploading to Yahoo hosted sites
with 6.10, but the owner of the domain has moved away from Yahoo after
that and other problems just made it unbearable.

I've got one of the few 100% unfiltered ISPs, so I know nothing was
interfering with my FTPing. Besides, my own two domains and others I
support haven't got the issue. You can close this bug as simply an
artifact in the horrendous hosting service that is Yahoo ;)
(Still, plain old NCFTP and other regular programs worked. I just
can't do
anymore proper testing without an account anymore.)

In case you're not familiar with it, they're using a strange virtual
host
system where blogging tools and phpMyAdmin are automatically
installed,
and there is no intermediate home directory outside what's accessible
to the webserver. Very scary.
