Now that you mentioned it, the HUD loading menus at startup is quite a weird one too. It only happens if you had searched something with HUD and activated a result or performed a search and closed HUD by clicking outside HUD area.
If you use Escape to close the HUD, the menus will only be loaded once HUD actually needs them.
