In the git repo on sourceforge I've now fixed the tab issue and the problem
that the kde-version didn't allow to select variable width fonts.
Regarding the tab width: I had to use
QFontMetricsF( font() ).width(' ') * tabSize
to calculate the correct width instead of the previously used
fontMetrics().width(' ')*tabSize
which is only integer based.
I also wrote to the mailing list for kate and kwrite ([email protected])
and told them about this issue and my workaround.
