It seems I have a similar issue... in my case it seems that the certificate had expired. Under Lucid, this didn't lead to libvirtd refusing to start, but in Precise this caused startup to fail. I'm not sure whether that's an improvement but it would really have helped if the syslog were more informative than simply spawning and failing something like a dozen instances.
I'm just adding this for others searching the database and finding this issue to be informed of another failure vector. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988286 Title: After upgrading from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 libvirt-bin does not start any more with --listen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/988286/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
