Hello shaquille, and thank you for your report. From the stacktrace that
you've attached, it appears that the log file for Software Center was
somehow corrupted or otherwise not readable. You've identified a
workaround and that should do the trick. If you have tried the
workaround, has the solved the problem for you then? Please let us know
if it has recurred.
