I did some further testing after installing the current daily image (only possible by booting the usb stick with "nomodeset").
It seems to depend on the boot options if the system comes up properly with Nouveau drivers (and KMS). Booting with just: quiet splash splash or no options specified as kernel options makes the system come up properly (even with 3D acceleration, allthough with bug #1010794). Otherwise, if I boot with: ro quiet splash $vt_handoff quiet splash $vt_handoff ro quiet splash it leads to the unusable desktop/login manager as reported in this bug's description. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1040495 Title: Graphical corruptions with Nouveau driver makes Quantal unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1040495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
