I've tried building some kernels by modifying the config from the ubuntu defaults matching the settings mentioned in that Gentoo thread with no luck. I would not take this as gospel though since I don't feel that I'm terribly competent with kernel building.
In reply to Rainer Rohde: there are only so many developers and so much time, and many of the bug-fixers both up and downstream aren't even getting paid for their work. A non-critical issue on a single model of notebook won't be at the top of the priority list. It is annoying though, especially when I'm slightly hung over in the morning and get to stare into the blinding light of my screen at work. =) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046088 Title: No Brightness Control on ASUS G75VW Notbook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-updates/+bug/1046088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
