Got this bug with Lubuntu amd64 daily 2012-09-23, written to usb hard
disk with dd. Works with the same image, the same usb disk and
Unetbootin.

Maybe linked in some way to BIOS behavior: with the hybrid ISO my BIOS
(ASUS P8H67M-LE motherboard) displayed only one relevant entry in boot
menu, "<hdd model>"; and with MBR, FAT32 and Unetbootin it displayed
two, "<hdd model>" rebooted immediately and "EFI: <hdd model>" worked (I
don't understand this; I use a traditional MBR on both disks, internal
and USB; after installation in this manner I got grub-efi-amd64, it
refused to work, just as expected, had to install grub-pc manually).

Tried Ubuntu daily and Lubuntu Beta 1 with dd, they hanged in the same
way.
