I found a way to work around the issue: $ xrandr --addmode VGA1 1280x1024 $ xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1280x1024
but I have to do this after every reboot which is not a good solution. I also found out that EDID information is not detected correctly by the i915 drm modul, as /sys/module/drm/drivers/pci:i915/0000:00:02.0/drm/card0/card0-VGA-1/edid is an empty file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1049534 Title: [regression from 12.04] VGA Monitor uses reduced resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1049534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
