Hi Brian, Are you particularly interested in the VMware Server aspects of this? If so, I must inform you that I've completely removed VMware from my system and am now experimenting with VirtualBox instead. Is this relevant to you?
As for the version of the kernel, it was the Live CD that I downloaded, and I never got Gutsy running to the point that I could apply any updates. I wouldn't have filed a bug report on this, knowing that it was as likely to be VMware at fault as Gutsy, but the dialog that came up asked me to. I'm a noob, and just wanted to see how Gutsy was coming along. Would it be helpful if I were to download a new Live CD, presuming that this would have the newer kernel that you need information from? I could then install in VirtualBox and see what happens? I've never gotten involved in the pre-testing and development debugging process, as I'm completely new to Linux and having enough trouble just getting stable versions to do what I want. :-) Sorry if I've inadvertently opened a can or worms here!
