Using headphones and keyboard shortcuts to control the volume slider,
something is not right when the volume is close to mute.

  What I spect:
Volume to raise smoothly from mute to max

  What I get:
Volume suddenly rises to 15% at the second or third "step" of the volume
slider.

  Test:
Using keyboard shortcuts, rise volume to max and then to the minimun (muted).
Then slowly start to rise. Alsamixer shows:

  0: master 0 | headphone 68 | pcm 0 -- muted
  1: master 16 | headphone 0 | pcm 100 -- muted
  2: master 16 | headphone 0 | pcm 100 -- muted
  3: master 18 | headphone 100 | pcm 100 -- volume ~15%
