at the SANE hompeage.
  Unfortunately only the following resolution/colour depth settings are working:
  - 600 dpi 8 bit colour
  - 1200 dpi 8 bit colour
  - 1200 dpi 16 bit colour
  
  All other combinations return black pages as the scanner light stays turned 
off.
