Hi, well, I think this is still a current bug (or maybe it is just a missing feature and it is not supposed to work ?). I also think this might be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mozilla-thunderbird/+bug/105088
The point is that, AFAICT, neither Firefox, nor Thunderbird can handle url that use gio, although they are both compiled with --enable-gio flag. Trying to open a smb://share/path-to/file.html url by clicking on the file in Nautilus results in : 1) firefox is opened, as it is the default app for handling html file on my system 2) firefox fails, saying : L'adresse n'a pas été reconnue Firefox ne sait pas ouvrir cette adresse car le protocole (smb) n'est associé à aucun programme. Il est peut-être nécessaire d'installer une autre application pour ouvrir ce type d'adresse. which I would translate rougthly as : Unrecognized address Firefox can't open this address as protocol (smb) is not associated to any program. Maybe you have to install another application to open this type of addres. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99230 Title: [feisty] sftp:// and other system registered handlers broken in FF To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/99230/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
