Public bug reported:
Environment: Precise, latest updates
This is a precise-specific bug, the dialog in question has significantly
changed in the version of wireshark in quantal
Steps performed:
1) Start wireshark
2) Click the capture options (picture of a NIC with a spanner overlaid) button
3) Type a character in the "Interface" field
Wireshark now crashes.
If run from a console, the following is visible:
$ wireshark
**
ERROR:capture_dlg.c:408:capture_filter_check_syntax_cb: code should not be
reached
Aborted (core dumped)
Whilst I can't say with absolute certainty, I think this must be a regression
since precise's release, simply because I find it hard to imagine that the last
time I captured from a FIFO in the filesystem was back in oneiric.
