Public bug reported:

System G4 iBook
1.42GHz CPU, 1.5GHz RAM.
Lubuntu Quantal daily build October 1.
Fresh install

When initially lauched alsamixer in terminal it showed as "file or
directory does not exist". I reinstalled asla-utils package and ran "rm
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.local.conf", which fixed the problem in 12.04.
This time it did not; alsamixer shows in terminal, but with the message
"this sound device does not have any controls", no sound in system, or
loudspeaker icon in taskbar.

Is this a bug or faulty config?
