You probably have the same problem that I did. It is a problem with the sessions manager not saving changes. Try this to fix the problem. Copy this into a new file using text editor:
[Desktop Entry] Name=brightside.desktop Encoding=UTF-8 Version=1.0 Exec= brightside X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true Save it as brightside.desktop in the default user folder.
