Public bug reported:

I tried to reinstall Ubuntu after having trouble with my partitions. I
had installed Windows 7 and then Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 before trying to
reinstall. The configuration was:

SSD:
/ 25 GB
/home 88 GB
/swap 2 GB

"normal" HDD:
160 GB, Windows 7

After installing all my necessary software I wasn't able to even surf
the web. After making a few checks I figured out that my system
partition was completely full. 0 kb left! I tried to reboot after doing
"sudo apt-get clean" and the other things one does to make up space.
When I then tried to reboot, I wouldn't even get to the login screen
anymore. fschk would simply hang and the memory checks couldn't find any
errors. This is why I tried a reinstall and wipe everything completely.
