all, this is not a coreutils issue, so I am closing the task for it.
This was well explained in the coreutils upstream bug.
Secondly, you have not provided any data about your Ubuntu version.
Generically, it would be better if you opened bugs using 'ubuntu-bug'
instead -- 'ubuntu-bug' will collect some data from your system,
including Ubuntu version.
