Tested with both packages installed:
ii appmenu-gtk:amd64 12.10.1-0ubuntu1.1
amd64 Export GTK menus over DBus
ii appmenu-gtk:i386 12.10.1-0ubuntu1.1
i386 Export GTK menus over DBus
And verified menu's do exist with appmenu co-installed
